INTENDED USE

This tool is intended for consumer use only. This tool is not designed for professional use. The power cord should only be used in approved electrical outlets as described in this manual.

The safety instructions provided in this manual are not intended to cover all possible conditions and practices that may occur when operating, maintaining and cleaning power tools.
Always use common sense and pay particular attention to all the DANGER, WARNING, CAUTION and NOTE statements of this manual.

This is the safety alert symbol. It is used to alert you to potential personal injury hazards. Obey all safety messages that follow this symbol to avoid possible injury or death.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

People with electronic devices, such as pacemakers, should consult their physician(s) before using this product. Operation of electrical equipment in close proximity to a heart pacemaker could cause interference or failure of the pacemaker.
WARNING Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling and other construction activities contains chemicals known to the State of California

• Crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other masonry products, and arsenic and chromium from chemically-treated lumber.

area, and work with approved safety equipment, such as dust masks that are specially designed to filter out microscopic particles.

WORK AREA

WARNING

Keep your work area clean and well lit. Cluttered benches and dark areas invite accidents.

Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.

Keep bystanders, children, and visitors away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

WARNING

Double insulated tools are equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other.) This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If
the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install a polarized outlet. Do not change the
plug in any way. Double insulation eliminates the need for the three wire grounded power cord and grounded power supply system.
Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is
grounded.
Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord to carry the tool or pull the plug from an outlet. Keep the cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges, or moving
parts. Replace damaged cords immediately. Damaged cords increase the risk of electric shock.

When operating the tool outside, use an outdoor extension cord marked “W- A” or “W.”These cords are rated for outdoor use and reduce the risk of electric shock.

Make sure the extension cord being used is in good condition. If there are any cut or nicks (no matter how deep) in the insulation,
DO NOT use that cord. Also, make sure the extension cord is heavy enough to carry the current needed by the saw (see ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS).
DO NOT use small “around-the house” lamp extension cords. These cords can easily overheat and/or catch fire when used with power tools.

PERSONAL SAFETY

WARNING

Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use tool while tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.

Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Contain long hair. Keep your hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
Avoid accidental starting. Be sure switch is off before plugging in. Carrying tools with your finger on the switch or plugging in tools that have the switch on
invites accidents.
Remove adjusting keys or wrenches before turning the tool “O N”. A wrench or a key that is left attached to a rotating part of the tool may result in personal injury.

Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Proper footing and balance enable better control of the tool in unexpected situations.

Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection must be used for appropriate conditions..

TOOL USE AND CARE

CAUTION

Use clamps or other practical ways to secure and support the workpiece to a stable platform. Holding the work by hand or against your body is unstable and
may lead to loss of control.
Do not force tool. Use the correct tool for your application. The correct tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it is designed.
Do not use tool if the power switch does not turn it “ON” or “OFF”. Any tool that cannot be controlled with the power switch is dangerous and must be replaced.

Disconnect the power cord plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing accessories or storing the tool. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the tool accidentally.

Store idle tools out of reach of children and other untrained persons. Tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
Maintain tools with care. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained tools with a sharp cutting edge are less likely to bind and are easier to control.

CAUTION

Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, and any other condition that may affect the tool’s operation. If damaged, have the tool
serviced before using. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained tools.
Use only accessories that are recommended by the manufacturer for your model. Accessories that may be suitable for one tool may become hazardous when used on another tool.

SERVICE

Tool service must be performed only by qualified repair personnel. Service or maintenance by unqualified personnel may result in a risk of injury.
When servicing a tool, use only identical replacement parts. Follow instructions in the Maintenance section of this manual. Use of unauthorized parts or failure to
follow Maintenance Instructions may create a risk of electric shock or injury.

SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES AND/OR SYMBOLS

DANGER

Keep hands away from cutting area and blade. Keep your second hand on auxiliary handle or motor housing. If both hands are holding the saw, they
cannot be cut by the blade.
Keep your body positioned to either side of the saw blade, but not in line with the saw blade. KICKBACK could cause the saw to jump backwards (See “Causes and Prevention of Kickback”).
Do not reach underneath the work. The guard cannot protect you from the blade below the work.
Check lower guard for proper closing before each use. Do not operate saw if lower guard does not move freely and close instantly. Never clamp or tie lower guard into the open position. If saw is accidentally dropped, lower guard may be bent. Raise the lower guard with the Retracting Handle and make sure it moves freely and does not touch the blade or any other part, in all angles and depths of cut.
Check the operation and condition of the lower guard spring. If the guard and the spring are not operating properly, they must be serviced before use. Lower
guard may operate sluggishly due to damaged parts, gummy deposits, or a buildup of debris.

Lower guard should be retracted manually only for special cuts such as “Pocket Cuts” and “Compound Cuts.” Raise lower guard by Retracting Handle. As soon as the blade enters the material, lower guard must be released. For all other sawing, the lower guard should operate automatically.
Always observe that the lower guard is covering the blade before placing saw down on bench or floor. An unprotected, coasting blade will cause the saw to walk backwards, cutting whatever is in its path. Be aware of the time it takes or the blade to stop after the switch is released.
NEVER hold piece being cut in your hands or across your leg. It is important to support the work properly to minimize body exposure, blade binding, or loss of control.

Hold tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where the cutting tool may contact hidden wiring. Contact with a “live” wire will also make exposed metal parts of the tool “live” and shock the operator.
When ripping always use a rip fence or straight edge guide. This improves the accuracy of the cut and reduces the chance for blade binding.
Always use blades with correct size and shape (diamond vs. round) arbor holes. Blades that do not match the mounting hardware of the saw will run eccentrically, causing loss of control.
Never use damaged or incorrect blade washers or bolts. The blade washers and bolts were specifically designed for your saw, for optimum performance
and safety of operation.

SAFETY RULES FOR CIRCULAR SAWS

NEVER assume the blade has stopped just because the trigger has been released. Blades may continue moving even after the motor stops.
Always wear safety goggles or eye protection when using this tool. Use a dust mask or respirator for applications which generate dust. This saw may throw up debris that could lodge in the eyes causing severe pain or injury.
Inspect the bolts and blade washers before each use. Damaged or incorrect bolts or blade washers can cause injury.
When using the Circular Saw, always maintain a firm grip on the tool with both hands. Never put your hands or feet in the cutting area. Do not grasp
the tool or place your hands too close to the blade. Keep your hands well away from the blade. Never reach underneath the tool while the blade is in motion.

CAUTION

Do not use your legs or feet to stabilize the work piece.
Keep the handle of the Circular Saw dry, clean and free from oil and grease.
Do not run the Circular Saw while carrying it at your side. A moving blade could cause serious personal injury.

Disconnect the power cord plug from the power source before making any assembly adjustments, changing accessories, performing any inspection, maintenance or cleaning procedures. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the tool accidentally which could cause serious personal
injury.

Be extra careful when cutting in high or hard-to-reach locations. Avoid sawing overhead. Be on the lookout for hidden wires and falling debris.

Do not use the Circular Saw if it has been damaged, left outdoors in the rain, snow, wet or damp environments, or immersed in liquid.

Maintain labels and nameplates on the Circular Saw. These carry important information. If unreadable or missing, contact Alltrade for a replacement.

CAUSES AND PREVENTION OF KICK BACK

Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched, bound, or misaligned saw blade, causing an uncontrolled saw to lift up and out of the work piece toward the operator.

When the blade is pinched or bound tightly by the kerf closing down, the blade stalls and the motor reaction drives the unit rapidly back toward the operator.
If the blade becomes twisted or misaligned in the cut, the teeth at the back edge of the blade can dig into the top surface of the metal causing the blade to climb
out of the kerf and jump back toward the operator.
Kickback is the result of tool misuse and/or incorrect operating procedures or conditions and can be avoided by taking proper precautions as given below:
Maintain a firm grip on the saw and position your body and arm in a way that allows you to resist KICKBACK forces. KICKBACK forces can be controlled by the operator, if proper precautions are taken.

When blade is binding, or when interrupting a cut for any reason, release the trigger and hold the saw motionless in the material until the blade comes to a complete stop. Never attempt to remove the saw from the work or pull the saw backward while the blade is in motion or KICKBACK may occur.
Investigate and take corrective actions to eliminate the cause of blade binding.

CAUTION

When restarting a saw in the work piece, center the saw blade in the kerf and check that teeth are not engaged into the material. If saw blade is binding, it
may walk up or KICKBACK from the work piece as the saw is restarted.
Support large panels to minimize the risk of blade pinching and KICKBACK. Large panels tend to sag under their own weight. Supports must be placed under the panel on both sides, near the line of cut and near the edge of the panel.

Do not use dull or damaged blade. Unsharpened or improperly set blades produce narrow kerf causing excessive friction, blade binding and KICKBACK.

Blade depth and bevel adjusting locking levers must be tight and secure before making cut. If blade adjustment shifts while cutting, it will cause binding and KICKBACK.

Use extra caution when making a “Pocket Cut” into existing walls or other blind areas. The protruding blade may cut objects that can cause KICKBACK.

allow you to operate the tool better and safer.

ASSEMBLY

WARNING

Always make sure that the power cord is unplugged and the trigger switch is OFF” before changing blades or attachments.
When removing the blade from the tool, avoid contact with skin and use proper protective gloves when grasping the blade or accessory. Accessories
may be hot after prolonged use.

NOTE: If the blade clamp screw will not loosen enough to allow blade installation, tap gently on the end of the wrench with a mallet until the clamp screw breaks free.

ATTACHING / REMOVING BLADE

WARNING
Only use sharp and undamaged saw blades. Cracked or bent saw blades must be replaced immediately.

REPLACING THE SAW BLADE:

Hold the saw blade guard open.
Use the flange wrench to stop the saw blade from moving.
Loosen the blade bolt with hex wrench and remove it.
Remove the flange.
Remove the old saw blade and place the new saw blade with the teeth pointing in the direction of rotation. See arrow on the housing.
Move the saw blade guard back into its normal position.
Place the flange on the saw blade and secure the blade bolt.

MOUNTING THE RIP FENCE

MOUNTING THE RIP FENCE:
The rip fence allows sawing parallel to an edge at a maximum distance of 4″.

Loosen the lock knob.
Insert the rip fence into the saw base as shown in the illustration.
Set the lock knob to the required distance.
Tighten the lock knob.

CUTTING DEPTH ADJUSTMENT

WARNING: Disconnect plug from power supply before making any adjustments to the tool.

Hold the saw firmly.
Loosen the depth adjustment knob and move shoe to obtain the desired depth of cut.
Make sure the depth adjustment knob has been retightened before operating saw.

Your saw is equipped with a carbide tipped blade for long life and efficient cutting.
Setting the saw at the proper cutting depth keeps blade friction to a minimum, removes sawdust from between the blade teeth, results in cooler, faster sawing
and reduces the chance of kickback. Align the appropriate mark on the depth adjustment strap with the triangle on the upper blade guard. Your depth is set.
For the most efficient cutting action using a carbide tipped blade, set the depth adjustment so that about one half of a tooth projects below the surface of the
wood to be cut.

A method of checking the correct cutting depth is to lay a piece of the material you plan to cut along the side of the blade and observe how much tooth projects beyond the material.

BEVEL ANGLE ADJUSTMENT

Disconnect plug from power supply before making any adjustments to the tool.

The full range of bevel adjustment is from 0 to 45 DEGREES. The quadrant is graduated in increments of 5 degrees.

On the front and rear of the saw is a bevel angle adjustment mechanism consisting of a calibrated quadrant and a knob.

To set the saw for a bevel cut, turn the bevel adjustment knobs counterclockwise to loosen, and tilt shoe to the desired angle by aligning the pointer with the
desired angle mark. Retighten knobs firmly by turning clockwise.

OPERATING THE CIRCULAR SAW

Always unplug the tool before attempting to change the blade or accessories.

OPERATING THE ON/OFF SWITCH

THIS TOOL IS CONTROLLED BY A TRIGGER SWITCH:
• The speed of the Circular Saw depends on the amount of pressure applied on the trigger.
The further the trigger is pressed, the faster the tool will go.
• Press the lock-off button, then pull the “ON/OFF” trigger to turn the Circular Saw “ON”. To turn the Circular Saw “OFF”, release the trigger switch. The lock-off button will automatically reset.

GENERAL CUTTING

WARNING

Always hold the saw in front of you and away from your body. Keep your hands and feet well away from the work piece.
Never feed the blade into the work piece until the blade is at full speed.
If the blade is not at full speed, the saw may kick back causing serious personal injury.

Do not force the saw. Excessive force may result in a broken blade. Use only enough pressure to keep the saw moving through the
work piece.
• Put on eye protection.
• Clear the saw of any foreign material.
• Make sure the work piece is held securely in place. Hold smaller pieces in a vise or attach to the workbench with clamps.
• Mark out the line to be cut so it is easily visible.

• Check the lower guard for damage. If damaged, do not use tool.
• Always use the right blade for the material.
• Make sure all bolts, screws and locking levers are secure before starting tool.
• Pull the trigger to start the saw.
• Set the shoe against the work piece.
• When the blade reaches full speed, slowly feed the blade into the work piece.
When the blade starts cutting, release the blade guard.

CAUTION

To reduce risk of damage to the tool or blade, do not exceed the feed rate and maximum cut time for materials thicker than 1/4″, as charted below.
Between maximum cut times, allow the tool to cool down for 6 minutes of running with no load or 60 minutes switched off.
Cutting too fast or too long in heavy material will damage the tool if the tool if the tool is not allowed to cool.
Cutting too slow will cause excessive wear on the blade.
This tool is intended for cutting unhardened ferrous metal and non-ferrous metal.
The following precautions must be followed to reduce the risk of injury.
• Do not cut stacked materials. Cut one piece at a time.
• Do not cut hardened steel.
• Cut materials with the wider edge of the shoe over the clamped side of
the material.
• Do not touch the blade, workpiece, chips, or chip container with bare hands immediately after cutting; they may be hot and could burn skin.

CUTTING MATERIALS THICKER THAN 1/4″ (3/4″ MAXIMUM THICKNESS)

When cutting materials over 1/4″, certain guidelines must be followed to avoid serious damage to the tool and/or blade. The correct combination of the following
factors will allow for a successful cut through thicker materials:

Material Thickness (do not cut materials thicker than 3/4″)

If the material thickness is not shown in the chart below, round up to the nearest thickness listed in the chart and follow those guidelines.

Maximum Length of Cut (the length of material in inches through which the saw moves between cool down periods.)
Feed Rate (the speed at which the saw moves through the material in seconds per inch.)
Maximum Cutting Time (the total amount of time that the saw can be under load between cool down periods.)
Cool Down Period (6 minutes running with no load or 60 min. switched off.)

CUTTING THIN OR CORRUGATED MATERIALS

Cut thin and corrugated materials at least 1″ from the edge of the workpiece to avoid Injury or damage to the tool caused by thin strips of metal being pulled into the upper guard.

CUTTING LARGE SHEETS

Large sheets sag or bend if they are not correctly supported. If you attempt to cut without leveling and properly supporting the workpiece, the blade will tend to bind, causing KICKBACK.
Support large sheets. Be sure to set the depth of the cut so that you can only cut through the workpiece, not through the supports.
When cutting widths greater than 4″, clamp 1″ lumber to the work piece and use the inside edge of the shoe as a guide.

POCKET CUTTING

WARNING: If the blade binds, release the trigger immediately. Do not move the saw until the blade comes to a complete stop. Find the cause of the binding before starting the saw again.

NOTE: If the blade becomes pinched, twisted, misaligned or bound, it will stall and lift up out of the work piece, suddenly jerking back toward the operator. This reaction is referred to as KICKBACK.

• Mark out the line to be cut so it is easily visible.
• Start inside the area to be cut out.
• Set the shoe against the work piece at an angle.
• Lift the blade guard.
• Pull the trigger to start the saw.
• When the blade reaches full speed, slowly feed the blade into the work piece. When the blade starts cutting, release the blade guard.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

This Circular Saw is lubricated before it leaves the factory. This lubrication should last for the life of the tool. No further lubrication is required.
Use only mild soap and a damp cloth to clean the tool. Never let any liquid get inside the casing. Never immerse any part of the tool in a liquid. Always keep the
ventilation openings clear.
Regularly clean the ventilation slots in your tool and charger using only a soft brush or dry cloth.
Inspect all mounting screws regularly. Tighten any loose screws. Failure to keep the mounting screws tight could result in serious injuries.

Never open the Circular Saw case. Do not attempt to repair the Circular Saw yourself. Opening the tool will void your warranty.

ACCESSORIES

Use only accessories that are recommended by the manufacturer for your model.
Accessories that may be suitable for one tool may become hazardous when used on another tool.
Always attach grounded (3-prong) extension cords to grounded (3-hole) outlets.
If you must use an extension cord, be sure that the gauge is large enough to carry the amount of current necessary for your power tool. If not, your tool may experience a loss of power, excessive voltage drop or overheating. The smaller the gauge number, the heavier the cord (see table on below).

The date of purchase shall be the date of shipment to the original purchaser, or the date the original purchaser took possession, custody or control of the product, whichever occurred first. Warranty Performance

By purchasing the product, purchaser expressly acknowledges and agrees that their sole and exclusive remedy under this warranty shall be strictly limited to the repair or replacement of any covered nonconforming items or parts thereof provided that any such nonconforming item and/or part is promptly returned to Alltrade’s facility postage pre-paid and insured (address: ALLTRADE Warranty Claims & Repair, 1431 Via Plata, Long Beach, CA 90810, Attn: Customer Service 1-800-590-3723) within the applicable warranty period, with a written request by purchaser that Alltrade repair and/or replace the nonconforming item and/or part. We recommend that you keep the original product packaging in the event you need to ship the unit.

We suggest the package be insured against loss or in transit damage. When sending your product include your name, address, phone number, dated proof
of purchase (or copy), and a statement about the nature of problem. Warranty coverage is conditioned upon purchaser furnishing Alltrade with adequate written
proof that they are the original purchaser and of the original purchase date. Parts returned, freight prepaid and insured, to Alltrade’s facility (see above address) will be inspected and, at Alltrade’s option, repaired and/or replaced free of charge if found to be defective and subject to warranty. Alltrade retains the sole discretion to determine whether any item or part is nonconforming and, if so, whether the item and/or part will be repaired and/or replaced. If the unit is repaired, new or reconditioned replacement parts may be used. If Alltrade chooses to replace the product, it may replace it with a new or reconditioned one of the same or comparable design. The repaired or replaced unit will be warranted under the terms of the remainder of the warranty period. Typically, a defective product that is returned within the first 30 days after the purchase date will be replaced; for items returned after the first 30 days and within the warranty period, covered defective parts not subject to normal wear and tear or other exclusions will be repaired orreplaced, at Alltrade’s option. During the warranty period, Alltrade will be responsible for the return shipping charges. Alltrade’s repair and/or replacement of any non- conforming item and/or part thereof shall constitute fulfillment of all obligations to the purchaser. Alltrade shall not be responsible or liable for any expense, including freight charges, or repairs made outside Alltrade’s facility, unless expressly agreed to by Alltrade in writing. Under no circumstances shall Alltrade bear any responsibility for loss of the unit, loss of time or rental, inconvenience, commercial loss or consequential damages.

Exclusions

This warranty does not cover parts damaged due to normal wear, abnormal conditions, misapplication, misuse, abuse, accidents, operation at other than
recommended pressures or temperatures, improper storage or freight damage.
Parts damaged or worn by operation in dusty environments are not warranted.
Failure to follow recommended operating and maintenance procedures also voids warranty.
This limited warranty does not apply to accessory items such as drill bits, screwdriving bits, circular saw blades, jigsaw blades, grinding wheels, sanding
sheets and other related items.
DAMAGE TO THE PRODUCT RESULTING FROM TAMPERING, ACCIDENT, ABUSE, NEGLIGENCE, FAILURE TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS, UNAUTHORIZED REPAIRS
OR ALTERATIONS, DAMAGE WHILE IN TRANSIT TO OUR SERVICE FACILITY, USE OF UNAPPROVED OR IMPROPER ATTACHMENTS OR ACCESSORIES, COMMERCIAL AND RENTAL APPLICATIONS OR OTHER CAUSES UNRELATED TO PROBLEMS WITH MATERIAL OR WORKMANSHIP ARE NOT COVERED BY THIS WARRANTY.

Alltrade will not be liable for the following: labor charges, loss or damage resulting from improper operation, maintenance or repairs made by other persons;
pre-delivery services such as assembly, oil or lubricants, and adjustment; maintenance services that are normally required to maintain the product.
The use of other than genuine Alltrade Repair Parts will void warranty.

EXCEPT FOR THE LIMITED WARRANTY PROVIDED ABOVE, ALL OTHER EXPRESS WARRANTIES, GUARANTIES AND/OR REPRESENTATIONS BY ALLTRADE AND/OR ITS REPRESENTATIVE(S) REGARDING THE DESIGN, MANUFACTURE, PURCHASE, USE AND/OR OPERATION OF THE PRODUCT OR ANY COMPONENT THEREOF SOLD HEREUNDER, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER ANY SUCH WARRANTY, GUARANTY AND/OR REPRESENTATION, WRITTEN OR ORAL, ARISES BY OPERATION OF LAW AND/OR EQUITY AND/OR BY ANY ACT OR OMISSION OF ALLTRADE AND/OR ITS REPRESENTATIVE(S), OR THE BUYER, ARE HEREBY EXPRESSLY EXCLUDED AND DISCLAIMED BY ALLTRADE AND/OR ITS REPRESENTATIVES. PURCHASER KNOWINGLY AND WILLINGLY WAIVES ANY AND ALL SUCH WARRANTIES AND RIGHTS, CLAIMS AND/OR CAUSES OF ACTION ARISING THEREFROM OR BASED THEREON.
